"The action I am taking is no more than a radical measure to hasten the explosion of truth and justice. I have but one passion: to enlighten those who have been kept in the dark, in the name of humanity which has suffered so much and is entitled to happiness. My fiery protest is simply the cry of my very soul. Let them dare, then, to bring me before a court of law and let the enquiry take place in broad daylight!" - Emile Zola, J'accuse! (1898) -

It Can’t Happen Here; It Can’t Happen Again? A Sobering Reminder.

Progress, far from consisting in change, depends on retentiveness. When change is absolute there remains no being to improve and no direction is set for possible improvement: and when experience is not retained, as among savages, infancy is perpetual.

Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.

In the first stage of life the mind is frivolous and easily distracted; it misses progress by failing in consecutiveness and persistence. This is the condition of children and barbarians, in which instinct has learned nothing from experience.

George Santayana, The Life of Reason, Volume 1, 1905

If: Iran is not attacked before Bush and Cheney depart the White House; Bush and Cheney leave town without being Impeached obligating us to labor on at the “no time limitation” pursuit of them as “War Criminals”, Bush and Cheney leave office in a timely “Constitutional” manner finding no convenient or contrived excuse to exercise the provisos of NATIONAL SECURITY PRESIDENTIAL DIRECTIVE/NSPD 51 and HOMELAND SECURITY PRESIDENTIAL DIRECTIVE/HSPD-20, Government Continuity or Armageddon USA ,( declaring: a “National State of “Emergency”, Martial Law, opening the gates of internment camps, rounding up “the dangerous and dissidents”, the cancellation/set aside or delay of office taking of those duly elected, not necessarily legally elected, chosen in the November 2008 “Elections”, and IF Barack Obama is elected, and a number of treasonous corporate payroll members of Congress are sent to the Public Trash Dumpsters of America; WE will still be faced with the fact that nothing has changed and that all the accumulated powers of the Evolution of “America’s Imperial Presidency” remain intact for an eventual, inevitable critical Constitutional Crisis, Convulsion, Collapse and new American Revolutionary War if indeed the world had not marched blindly into World War III beforehand. That is a load of really big IFs!

So the question before the house, speaking in the terms of a parliamentarian, is: “Can it happen here; Can it happen again…or has it already begun?”

It is entirely relevant and proper to revisit the product of man’s last “Great Hate” as a reminder of what happened and what can indeed happen again given our species record of failing to deal with the lessons of history and the admonition that: ”The price of Liberty is eternal vigilance.”

A Deadly Reminder Lest It Happen Here; Lest It Happen Again!
