"The action I am taking is no more than a radical measure to hasten the explosion of truth and justice. I have but one passion: to enlighten those who have been kept in the dark, in the name of humanity which has suffered so much and is entitled to happiness. My fiery protest is simply the cry of my very soul. Let them dare, then, to bring me before a court of law and let the enquiry take place in broad daylight!" - Emile Zola, J'accuse! (1898) -

Interview: McCain's Former POW Roomate & Naval Academy Classmate Explains Why He Won't Vote For McCain

NBC's Nightly News, AP uncritically repeated McCain's inaugural address smear of Obama

Summary: NBC's Kelly O'Donnell, Lester Holt and the AP uncritically repeated the McCain campaign's claims that Sen. Barack Obama is already writing or has already written an inaugural address. The claims are reportedly based on a New York Times article, which asserted that Obama transition chief John D. Podesta "has already written a draft Inaugural Address for Mr. Obama, which he published this summer in a book called 'The Power of Progress.' " But neither O'Donnell nor the AP gave any indication that they had attempted to verify the accusation or obtain a response from Podesta, who issued a statement calling the charge "a complete fabrication."

Iraqi Cabinet Delays Decision on Security Pact

Iraq's Cabinet delayed a decision Sunday on the draft security agreement that would keep American troops here for three more years, and one prominent lawmaker suggested some parties may be stalling until after the U.S. election on Nov. 4. The Bush administration has been hoping for quick agreement by the Iraqis on the pact, which must be approved by parliament before the U.N. mandate expires at the end of the year.

Republicans Brace for Night of Doom in Congress While Democrats Eye Magic 60

Republicans who fear seeing the White House fall to Democrat Barack Obama are bracing for more pain with the deepening economic crisis set to scythe through their ranks in Congress. Still reeling from 2006 mid-term polls which saw Democrats wrench away their control of the Senate and the House of Representatives, Republicans look set to take further losses in a toxic political climate.

A Question Was Brought To My Attention This Morning As Regards This Phone Number.

After An Email to the DNC, Howard Dean and an actual phone test all is well.  It appears that the usage of this number changes from time to time and at the moment it is set up for the advertised Voter Aid Program.  If You Google the number you are likely to get to Louisiana Post Hurricane aid services…so don’t Google it and get confused. IT WORKS! (Ed.)
