"The action I am taking is no more than a radical measure to hasten the explosion of truth and justice. I have but one passion: to enlighten those who have been kept in the dark, in the name of humanity which has suffered so much and is entitled to happiness. My fiery protest is simply the cry of my very soul. Let them dare, then, to bring me before a court of law and let the enquiry take place in broad daylight!" - Emile Zola, J'accuse! (1898) -

Turn A Crisis Into An Opportunity For Real Change. The debate over whether or not to bail out General Motors etc… is a case of real silliness.

First, the production they do for the war machine will be called into play.  Second, this nation cannot absorb 3 million suddenly unemployed at the moment. Third, attempting to place the cost burden on union contracts and wages is simple right wing Republican Gospel. Fourth; is there is need to redirect and revamp the Detroit Dinosaurs?  You bet your ass there is and that moment of a “strings attached bailout” should not be viewed as another imposition upon us the taxpayers, because we are already screwed and we might as well get something for the screwing, and this is one of the places where we and nation, the world can benefit.

Now is the time to back the industry in the corner of modernizing, retooling and producing non-carbon based fueled vehicles and the electric engine power plant of the future.

Auto manufacturers taking advantage of a government bailout must only sell clean and green vehicles that do not contribute to global warming. No more internal combustion engines that run exclusively on fossil fuels can be sold period…only SCEVs (self charging electric vehicles) for long range capability up to and over 100mpg.

There are already enough technologies available that can be brought together to accomplish that goal now!  Once that power plant is a reality it will be only a short step to perfecting it to power trucks, railway engines, and yes the jet engine of the sky.

It is time to tell Detroit that we are going to stand with them, if they stand with us and change.  It is almost that simple; they change and survive and we all benefit or they die.  Well there is one other possibility:  they blackmail a gonad less Congress into shelling out the dough and they continue the same old production crap!  Let your Congressman know that you support Detroit aid if, and only if they are ready to make the big shift, and the oil companies…I’m sorry I can’t find any sympathy for them and they had better damn well start figuring out what they are going to do next!

Because frankly Scarlet I don’t give a damn!”
