Impeach Bush And Cheney Before They Can Strike Again
Bush is dangerous to the world and to America.
Emerging from a 90-minute White House meeting with President George W. Bush on June 4, Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said the two leaders were of one mind:
"We reached agreement on the need to take care of the Iranian threat. I left with a lot less question marks [than] I had entered with regarding the means, the timetable restrictions, and American resoluteness to deal with the problem. George Bush understands the severity of the Iranian threat and the need to vanquish it, and intends to act on that matter before the end of his term in the White House."
Kristol: Bush might attack Iran if he thinks Obama will win
President Bush is more likely to attack Iran if he thinks Senator Barack Obama may be elected, Weekly Standard editor Bill Kristol told FOX News Sunday morning.
Kristol added that if Senator John McCain was going to win the presidency, Bush would “think it more appropriate” to let him deal with the issue.
Senators McCain and Obama have often sparred about whether military force or diplomacy should be the primary way of dealing with Iran, according to an article by the Los Angeles Times.
McCain Bush III is dangerous to the world and to America also.

How Can Americans Sleep Through So Many Wake-Up Calls?
I have heard it said that many Americans prefer to believe almost any lie over the simple truth...if it is more 'comfortable' for them. There was a time I did not believe that, but I do now.
I am a devout Ecumenical Christian but have major disagreements with the Zionist Christians who think "thou shalt not kill" was a suggestion, not a Commandment. Killing based on lies is way past evil. I do not think they will win the debate with God on Judgment Day that the Iraqi genocide they supported was okay due to semantics and splitting hairs over what the definition of genocide or murder is.
Now we are in 2008, the White House is up for grabs, and both Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton have mumbled 'stay the course' in Iraq. Defending America, NOT.
Of course McCain will stay the course because he is too stupid to come up with an alternative and besides, the idiot Christian Far Right still thinks Bush is hot, and is out defending America - while the truth of the matter is he is destroying America and knee-deep in heinous in war crimes.
I thought America would be up in arms about the torture, the mass death, the genocide...but evidently American Christians are okay with torture so long as it is not them being tortured.
At the gas pump, cash only is about to be required because the gas stations are tired of giving 3% to 8% to the credit card companies on the sale. It is affecting their bottom line, too.
What is torture to me?
Watching another lie uttered by Wall Street or Washington DC and certain Americans holding them up high as the great leaders they are not.
I fear that about 90% of Americans cannot connect those dots and come up with the right answer the DNC lied about ending the travesty of Iraq. Will they continue to lie? You can bet everything you have on it.
Do they care one iota that your gasoline, home utilities and food prices are putting you deeper in the hole and bankrupting you and your family? Again, you can bet all you have that they could not care less.
So, why does the treasonous Democrat Congress not impeach Bush and just be done with it?
Because he has the ultimate defense. He would expose the other side of the aisle as being just as complicit in 9-11; for their support of the lies about why we needed to attack Afghanistan for a pipeline; and the hideous lies about Iraq and the genocide of !.2 million people. Both sides of the aisle are guilty...and that is why Bush smirks.
Why do I believe that the current media bosses actually believe having a criminal in office is the right choice? Nobody in their right mind could believe that big media refuses to cover Bush crimes because it would not deliver acceptable audience numbers. If Fox News can make a 20% chance of rain look like the news of the century, certainly high crimes could be covered with at least equal gusto.
Nor could anybody honestly believe there is not enough evidence of Bush Administration high crimes. The list of crimes is long and makes a powerful case. Dennis Kucinich has introduced articles of impeachment for both Bush and Cheney (for the Cheney impeachment, see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yJYbgouqlMw; for the Bush impeachment, see http://impeachment.kucinich.us/, videos of the delivery of all 35 articles can be viewed by clicking on each article on the left of the web page). All of these crimes have been reported in U.S. media, but none with anywhere near the enthusiasm, persistence, or even outrage of Lou Dobbs’s coverage of legal outsourcing.
Consider the so-called “Manning Memo.” This memo, far less ambiguous than the Downing Street Memo, and a great deal more extensive, contains information that warrants wall-to-wall coverage, yet has scarcely been mentioned in U.S. media. Among other damning evidence, the memo includes a discussion between Mr. Blair and Mr. Bush in which they seriously discuss ways to provoke Iraq into war by flying U.S. “U2 reconnaissance aircraft with fighter cover over Iraq, painted in U.N. colours … If Saddam fired on them, he would be in breach” http://www.nytimes.com/2006/03/27/international/europe/27memo.html?pagewanted=2&_r=1
As the famous attorney, Vincent Buliosi, who is working on an effort to prosecute George Bush for murder says, it makes no sense at all to provoke a country that is supposedly an “imminent threat” to the United States (see http://www.democracynow.org). Thus, it is clear that Bush always knew he had no legitimate case for invading a foreign country.
This memo became public in 2006, with ample time left in the Bush Administration. Why haven’t most Americans heard of it? My guess, as I said, misguided good intentions. But the key part of that phrase is “misguided.” Letting Bush slide on his crimes is bad for the country and bad for big media. National approval of news media is as low as approval of Congress and the White House. This mistrust of these major institutions is not mere cynicism. It is an accurate assessment of the trustworthiness and reliability of those institutions.
Why? My current theory is that the small group of people that sit atop the major conglomerates that are the source of almost all of the “news” that almost all the people “consume” actually believe that impeaching a U.S. President is even worse than having a war criminal for a U.S. President.
Introducing LOUIS Welcome to the first phase of LOUIS - the Library Of Unified Information Sources, a project of the Sunlight Foundation, and an effort, to paraphrase Justice Louis Brandeis, to illuminate the workings of the federal government. Our ultimate goal is to create a comprehensive, completely indexed and cross-referenced depository of federal documents from the executive and legislative branches of government. We are not there yet, but we can now offer these documents organized in a user-friendly interface, with a powerful search engine.
Court rules in favor of Chinese Muslim held at Gitmo
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A federal appeals court on Monday overturned a U.S. military tribunal's enemy combatant designation for a Chinese Muslim at the Guantanamo Bay prison, its first ruling that gives a detainee a chance for release.
It ordered the U.S government to release or transfer Huzaifa Parhat, a member of the Uighur ethnic group, or to "expeditiously" hold a new military tribunal for him.
Parhat, who was captured in Afghanistan and who has been imprisoned at Guantanamo Bay in Cuba for six years, is one of several Uighurs still at the prison. The United States has struggled to find a country willing to accept the Uighurs.
In 2006, the United States allowed five Chinese Muslims released from Guantanamo to seek asylum in Albania. The U.S. government has said it cannot return the Uighurs to China because they would face persecution there.
Arabic TV Station Under Heavy Lens
An Arabic-language television network financed by the U.S. government and based in Springfield, Va., has come under heavy criticism for hiring a largely foreign and inexperienced staff that has had little impact in winning over the hearts and minds of the Arab world.
Al-Hurra has cost taxpayers $350 million and more than four years after it began broadcasting, the station is widely regarded as a flop in the Arab world, where it has struggled to attract viewers and overcome skepticism about its mission, The Post's Craig Whitlock reports today.
The station -- a costly, glitzy operation with very little impact, one observer noted -- has been plagued by journalistic faux pas: One news anchor greeted the station's predominantly Muslim audience on Easter by declaring, "Jesus is risen today!" After al-Hurra covered a December 2006 Holocaust-denial conference in Iran and aired, unedited, an hour-long speech by the leader of Hezbollah, Congress convened hearings and threatened to cut the station's budget.
A separate joint investigation by the new investigative reporting outlet ProPublica and "60 Minutes" found an untrained, largely foreign staff with little knowledge of the country whose values and policies they were hired to promote.

McClatchy Investigates U.S. Detention System
Reporters for the Washington bureau of McClatchy Newspapers have unveiled the results of an eight-month investigation of the U.S. detention system created after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. They report that the government imprisoned dozens of innocent men, subjected them to abuse and stripped them of their legal rights. The...

Politico: Anti-Obama book to be released by conservative press that published Swift Boat smear book
Reporting on the forthcoming book The Case Against Barack Obama (Regnery, 2008), authored by former Human Events writer and National Review Online staff reporter David Freddoso, a June 23 Politico article stated that Marjory Ross, the president and publisher of Regnery Publishing, "likens the goal of Freddoso's book to that of 'Unfit for Command' " (Regnery, August 2004), which was co-authored by Swift Vets and POWs for Truth co-founder John E. O'Neill and Jerome R. Corsi. Unfit for Command: Swift Boat Veterans Speak Out Against John Kerry -- which Regnery touts as among its best-selling publications -- contains false and baseless attacks on Kerry's military service, as documented by Media Matters for America, and in numerous media reports. Media Matters also extensively documented numerous falsehoods put forth elsewhere by O'Neill and other members of Swift Vets and POWs for Truth (previously known as Swift Boat Veterans for Truth).
Regnery, which describes itself as "the nation's leading conservative publisher" and "central to the conservative movement today," has also published books by Dinesh D'Souza, David Horowitz, Laura Ingraham, Ann Coulter, G. Gordon Liddy, Michelle Malkin, Oliver North, and Newt Gingrich.
